From April 2013, both of our 1745 Rebellion figures will be available at historic Fort George, near Inverness. A fantastic and functioning British Army fortification, this is the mightiest artillery fortification in Britain. Built from 1748 and completed in 1769 near Ardersier, to the north-east of Inverness following the defeat of the Jacobite Army at Culloden in 1746, it's a great day out. It's also home of The Highlanders Museum. The Highlanders are the descendents of four famous Scottish Regiments originally raised from the Clans and communities of the Highlands and Islands in the late 1700’s. The Highlanders Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland today incorporates the world-famous names of the Seaforth Highlanders, The Gordon Highlanders, The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders and the Queen’s Own Highlanders (Seaforth and Camerons). The Museum represents all these famous Regiments except for The Gordon Highlanders who have their own museum in Aberdeen. The museum includes items from the Lovat Scouts as well as our Allied Regiments from Canada, Australia, New Zealand and from the Ghurkas. Showcase on the Isle of Skye! We have great pleasure to display our two 1745 Rebellion figures in the DUNCAN HOUSE Fine Jewellery Workshop, Strathaird Steading, Strathaird, Isle of Skye IV49 9AX. This is the Gallery and Workshop of Mr Garth Duncan (congratulations to Garth and his new wife Debra on their recent marriage, best wishes for a great future together!), master goldsmith, design jeweller and knife maker. We are deeply indebted and very grateful to Garth for allowing us to display our figures alongside his truly unique work. Garth started making jewellery in 1972. Although he is best known for his Ancient Celtic knotwork and Pictish style, he also designs and makes many modern pieces and always welcomes new and challenging commissions. In world-wide knife collectors' circles, Garth is renowned for the traditional Scottish knives he makes. These Dirks and Sgian Dubh are collected by a select few who share his admiration for fine Antique Scottish weapons. What's more, the road trip to the Gallery on Skye will take you through the magic shire of Torrin. Undiscovered and wildly breathtaking is this part of the grand Isle of Skye and much poorer is the person who never experiences it. VISITORS TO CULLODEN - Greystones figures are available at the Battle of Culloden Visitor Centre. We are extremely grateful to the National Trust for Scotland for this opportunity to showcase our figures 'on location' within the stunning Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre near Inverness. As an approved supplier to the NTS, we hope to expand the availability to other NTS sites related to the 1745 Rebellion across Scotland in due course.
