At $125 per person plus tax this luau recommended by the Westin, Maui (Naneao Ocean Villa) where we stayed and who also made the reservation for us – 5 adults- was a big disappointment! So great. Tahitian dance is a sensual swing of the hips and the traditional or’i chant. At sunset the entertainment will begin, through dance and music you will be taken through the fascinating history of the Hawaiians. There’s even a chance to check learn the hula off your bucket list! After paying nearly $700 for an evening of mediocrity, we felt ripped off royally! This is the best place you would go for a more intimate dinner, ocean views and a tranquil atmosphere.
The show was amazing to watch, especially the last performance. These sound like so much fun. Save your hard-earned money and go elsewhere for your luau experience! I've gone to other luaus on Maui, but this one was amazing with their end of show fire knife dance display!
Energize your evening at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa’s Wailele Luau. Attending a Luau party is just perfect. When you enter you will receive a fresh flower lei or a carved wooden fish hook necklace. The trip wouldn’t be the same had we not gone to the show.
The extra $20 for reserved seating is worth it. I did like how they paired the food and dance with is land. Held in an intimate garden setting, the dinner show utilizes the elements of earth, fire, and water to reflect the rich Polynesian culture through exciting performances and vibrant costumes. As if I didn’t want to go to Hawaii bad enough already! But, they are still fun social events and celebrations that feature Hawaiian and Polynesian dancing and cultural music. It was my families first Luau performance and they did a very good job. Very disappointed with the service and the experience, highly recommend not to attend at Westin Maui Kannapali. In Hawaiian, the meaning of the word luau is ‘young taro tops’, a plant that is a traditional food served at the event.

You won't find a better Maui luau in Lahaina, Kihei, or Kahului or Wailele! But then you realize there is a plethora of options in Maui–from long-running ones, to popular ones, to more traditional ones. Highlights include the story of Pele, Goddess of Fire and coconut husking from the Chief himself. If nothing else, you can revel on sipping on fruity cocktails while eating delectable pork and being entertained by talented Polynesian dancers.
