If there was one I missed it. I left my seat and kept thinking of Thom at odd moments for weeks. A very peculiar solo show with a very good actor. Eno's text as Pain recounts the major experiences of his life are harsh, vulnerable, loving, and truly compassionate. See it if At times he addresses audience members directly, staring intently at them as he asks rhetorical questions, and it's difficult to resist the impulse to answer back.

To champions of the playwright’s work, most notably former New York Times critic Charles Isherwood, Will Eno is (as Isherwood wrote in his 2005 review of Thom Pain) “the Samuel Beckett of the Jon Stewart generation.” That same year, Isherwood served on the jury that selected the play as a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Drama. He is almost endearing.
I saw the original production of “Thom Pain” by a then-unknown Will Eno in 2005 & was impressed enough that I’ve followed his career ever since. hmmm, you like Eno, Butler, Hall or some combo, would be OK watching 1 man meander thru a 90m meditation on a life still under construction. could have watched him for hours! His rambling, stream-of-consciousness monologue is marked by frequent non sequiturs, as if he can't quite figure out what direction he wants his story to take.
If you don't know his work, he's worth knowing about. See it if A few narrative threads can be discerned, including a traumatic event from his childhood and a failed relationship with a woman. (I suspect you'll like it a lot or HATE it, but whatever you feel will be apparent to you within the first 10 minutes or less.
Much too abstract for my tastes - but recommended to me by someone whose taste I trust more than mine.
you don't like one-man shows and long monologues or plays where there is more plot. That alone would have made the experience magical, but Eno's play was something else altogether. But nice is nice, and this Thom Pain is someone too good for his world — and ours. It is one of the two stories Thom tries to tell, more or less, in the play. She has recently completed her PhD in International Politics at the University of Queensland. See it if It never felt too long or tedious for me and I can easily say that I liked the experience and was glad to have seen it. See it if you enjoy stories, word play and mind play that often starts normal but turns out opposite delivered in a superb performance by one actor.

This is a play to see live, if there is an incredible actor to play the part of Thom. This is one of my favorite New York memories. you are a Michael C. Hall fan and if "stand-up existentialism" appeals to you.
