The second day students worked together to transfer their information onto a poster. I gave each group a couple books about their person that I checked out from the library. How cute!!! In the lesson Researching Black Inventors, first graders and second graders are encouraged to research the rich history of African American inventors. It took block of history time to get the information on paper. They had a template to follow, and they created a stick person poster of their famous African American. Now we are in the month of love, hearts, AND African American History. Prep.

In this lesson, students can choose what grade they wish to make based on how many cards they create. I hope your class enjoys it as much as mine did. Each student needs one light brown peanut person and one sheet of dark brown peanuts. One the third and final day, the students stood up and presented their poster to the class. Black History Month.
